Pennsylvania's MS4 Program and what is means to you..............

The PA Department of Environmental Protection administers the Stormwater requirements of the federal Clean Water Act and, since 2022, has issued a General Permit for all municipal storm sewer systems, which requires the implementation of a Stormwater Management Program for minimizing the impacts from runoff.  As individual municipalities are responsible for zoning, subdivision and land development ordinances that impact runoff, those communities that own a separate storm sewer system are responsible for issuing such permits and must meet the new regulations that were released in 2011.
